SCSD #1: Food Group programs are anonymous.
All SCSD1 Schools: Food Group Weekend Food Bags are available every Thursday during the school year.
TRHS and BHHS – Food Group Teen Pantries are open to kids every day during the school year.
If you are experiencing hard times and don’t currently receive Food Group Weekend food, please contact a school principal, counselor, parent liaison, or trusted teacher, and they can help.

Community and Family Resources
Compass Center for Families is committed to helping strengthen families in Johnson and Sheridan County. We are providing services to families through many means and keeping you, our staff and the children we serve safe. For services in Sheridan, please call 675-2272. In Buffalo, please call 684-2446. The parent liaison program is working closely with our schools, community partners and families to provide support and enrichment opportunities to SCSD2 families. Explaining COVID-19 to Your Children
- Take the child’s lead and answer their questions
- Keep it at their level and age-appropriate
- Keep things factual and calm
Maintaining Routine
- Healthy diet- you may contact your child’s school if you need support with food
- Maintain a consistent sleep schedule
- Get up and move!!
Managing Uncertainties
- Take breaks from looking at social media and COVID-19 information
- Connect via FaceTime or phone with trusted family and friends
- Be mindful of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
Staying Healthy
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for 20 seconds or more
- Personal distancing- 6-foot buffer
- When possible, stay home
